REMEDIATION PROJECT — A few months ago we found a roof flashing leak. The roof was repaired, but we have found the water intrusion has caused moisture accumulation in some storage areas. There is some evidence of mold growth. This will require professional remediation. The Board takes the health and safety of our residents seriously. We have hired a certified, professional microbial growth and moisture testing company, as well as a certified mold remediation company to clean, dry, and treat the affected areas. The testing is complete. The affected areas will be treated. The only storage units affected belong to Units 301 thru 308, and 201 thru 208. We want to let all of you know about what is going on. We would like to ask for your cooperation for the next couple of weeks. There will be 4 storage pods placed along the wall in the parking area near the St. Peter entrance. These pods will be used to store items from the affected storage units. We know this will be an inconvenience to some. Please be patient for the next couple of weeks. The remediation team hopes to have the project completed in two weeks. Remember, if you do not live in one of the above mentioned units you are not affected in any way, except for the inconvenience. FROM OUR DECORATING TEAM — New art work will be arriving shortly. These new pieces will replace the posters that are now in all of the corner niches. All of the vases will be removed. If any of these vases belong to you, we ask that you take them back now. Or, if there is one in particular you would like to have, please let Ingrid know. Also, we now have cushions on all of the porte cochere benches. TENNIS COURT PROJECT — Work has begun on the clean up of the tennis court/putting green area. Budgeting and plans will be finalized once the clean up is finished. FROM THE LIBRARIAN — Our little library has been quite successful. As you can see, we do have a limited space to work with. It is not possible to keep all types of books. So, we ask that you just donate books that you think your neighbors would enjoy reading. If you have books you are trying to get rid of you may donate them to the Jefferson Parish library, main campus, for their book sale. REQUESTS FROM YOUR NEIGHBORS —

Residents are always giving Ingrid suggestions for ideas to be included in the Rue. Here are some of them:

  • If you find a package delivered to the wrong area, be a good neighbor and take it to your neighbors door.

  • When you get out of your car be careful when opening your door so as not to ding the car parked next to you.

TRASH CANS — We now have trash cans in all of the mailrooms. Our hope is that all caregivers and delivery people will see them and use them. FALL SOCIAL Thursday, October 29 PLEASE WELCOME John Giambelluca: Unit 214 Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth.
