THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING THE TOWN HALL MEETING — We had 60 residents attend the meeting. We thank you for taking the time to come. The Tennis Court Re-purposing Committee report was wonderful. Sharon and her team have done a great job coming up with a starting point for the project. We look forward to their Open House. You will soon be receiving a survey. Please be sure to fill it out. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR GARBAGE — Hopefully you have all seen the memo Ingrid has posted in all of the trash rooms and mail rooms. (If not, please go read them.) The biggest problem area is the St. Peter/Burgundy trash chute and bin. The carpet has been soiled by liquid leaking from a bag. The chute and bin smell because loose garbage and liquids have been thrown in them. So, please, please, please: • Use thick plastic bags, and tie them tightly. • Do not put liquids in the bags. • Do not put loose items down the chutes, or in the bins. YEAH !!! NEW DOOR CLOSURES — Ingrid was able to find a new type of door closure that should take care of our “open door” problem. These new closures will allow the doors to automatically close even when the door is pushed all the way open. There will be door stops on the bottom of the doors which can be used if you want to keep the door open for a few minutes. The Burgundy door now has the new closure. Now that we know it works, new closures have been ordered for the other doors. COMMUNICATION — We hope you are all getting used to the text messages Ingrid has been sending. This is quickest way to get information out. Please remember that these mass texts do not accept replies. HURRICANE PREP — If you haven’t already done so, now is the time: • Check your flashlights and batteries • Start emptying out your freezer. • Make sure you have your evacuation plan in place. Both you and your family should be on the same page. PLEASE BE AWARE — If you feel uncomfortable at night, either inside or outside, please call Security. 504-490-3830 SAVE THE DATE — Summer Social Thursday, July 23 Details to follow IN MEMORIUM Betsy Reising Unit 232 Common sense is not a gift. It is a punishment because you must deal with everyone who doesn’t have it.
